Custom Design at The Chestnut Forge

Made with Heart. Marked by Soul. Designed for Generations.

Custom made is so much more than a pretty jewel.  It’s a personal expression.  It’s a symbol of deep connections.  It is a reflection of who we are—crafted into form and made to last, and it holds the real treasure of life…love.

There’s nothing more intimate than creating a piece of jewelry that will be worn close to your skin, lived in, cherished, and passed on.

This is your invitation to begin a deeply personal and collaborative process—designing a one-of-a-kind piece in a style that is uniquely yours. Whether you’re dreaming up something new from scratch, altering one of my existing designs, repurposing heirloom gold, or setting a loose gemstone you already have—we’ll shape it together.

How it works:

We’ll start with an email conversation to discuss your vision, timeline, and budget. I’ll guide you through each step with clarity and care—from sketch to final polish.

Step 1: Initiate Your Design
Purchase the non-refundable retainer to begin your custom design. This deposit secures your place in my design queue and covers initial sketches and planning.

Step 2: Design & Sketches
Within 14 business days of receiving your retainer, I’ll send 3–5 hand-drawn sketches tailored to your vision. You’ll have two opportunities for revisions to make adjustments or combine your favorite elements.

Step 3: Final Quote & Approval
Once you select and approve your design, I’ll send a final quote based on your chosen materials, complexity, and gemstones. If you’re ready, you’ll receive a private listing to place your full order.

Step 4: Creation & Updates
As I bring your piece to life, I’ll share behind-the-scenes glimpses, photos, and updates along the way. You’ll be part of the magic until the very last polish.

Materials & Stone Policy

I prefer to work with responsibly sourced metals and gemstones to uphold the quality and integrity of each piece I create. However, I am happy to use your heirloom or sentimental stones—provided they are in good condition and suitable for resetting. I’ll evaluate each on a case-by-case basis with care and transparency.

Where Your Story Meets Craftsmanship

At The Chestnut Forge, custom design is a deeply personal and creative collaboration.  Each piece begins with a dream, and from there, I pour hours into thoughtful design work—sketching, researching, refining, and sourcing the finest materials to ensure your vision becomes a piece worthy of being passed down through generations.

Because of this, each bespoke piece includes a design and development premium, which reflects the hours spend on the creative process and concept development, sourcing, communication, and engineering for longevity.

This premium is thoughtfully factored into your final quote and varies depending on the design’s complexity and materials. From our first sketch to the final polish, you’re part of something truly special—a process as unique as the piece itself.

Custom-made jewelry is more than adornment—it’s your story, made tangible in precious metal and stone.
